01Torque & shaft

Design torque = nominal transmitted torque × service factor. The tangential force at shaft radius is F = 2T/d. Gross-shaft torsional stress is shown only as a nominal reference; it does not include keyway stress concentration.

02Key geometry & allowables

Enter the actual standardized/project key dimensions. Effective bearing height is the contact height used by your chosen design method; MD-003 does not assume that the full key height carries uniform bearing pressure.
